This website is operated by Jacob Botos, trading as JB Bricklayer ("we", "us", "our"), a sole trader based in Harrow, London. You can contact us at info@jbbricklayer.co.uk or on 07903 057710.
By using this website you agree to these terms. This website and its content — including text, images, and the JB Bricklayer name and logo — belong to us or are used with permission, and may not be copied or reused without our consent. We've taken care to keep this site accurate, but the content (including photos of past work) is provided for general information and does not form part of any contract for building work.
Quotes provided through this website, by phone, or in writing are free and given without obligation. Unless we say otherwise in writing, a quote is valid for 30 days from the date it's given, after which prices may need to be revised — particularly for materials, which can change in cost.
A quote is based on the information and access available to us at the time, including what we can see or you tell us about the site. If, once work starts, we find something that wasn't visible or known about beforehand — for example hidden damp, unstable ground, or structural issues — we'll let you know before doing any extra work and agree revised costs with you first.
A job is confirmed once you've accepted a written quote and, where requested, paid any deposit. This forms the agreement between us for that specific job, alongside these general terms. Where anything in a signed quote or job-specific agreement conflicts with these website terms, the signed quote takes priority.
Payment terms (including any deposit, stage payments, and the balance due on completion) will be set out in your written quote. Unless otherwise agreed, invoices are due on the date shown on the invoice. We reserve the right to charge reasonable interest on invoices that remain unpaid past their due date.
If you'd like to change the scope of work after it's agreed, let us know and we'll provide a revised quote before carrying out the change. We won't carry out chargeable extra work without agreeing it with you first, except where needed for health and safety reasons.
If you need to cancel or postpone a booked job, please give us as much notice as you can. Where we've already bought materials for your job or turned away other work to hold your slot, we may need to charge for costs reasonably incurred up to the point of cancellation. We'll always discuss this with you rather than apply charges without explanation.
To carry out work safely and on schedule, we ask that you provide reasonable access to the site, along with water and electricity where needed. You're responsible for making sure any necessary permissions are in place before we start — for example planning permission, building regulations approval, or party wall agreements where relevant. We're happy to advise where we can, but obtaining these permissions is your responsibility unless we've specifically agreed otherwise in writing.
We use suitably qualified tradespeople and materials appropriate for the job. Where we supply materials, they're covered by the relevant manufacturer's warranty. We stand behind our workmanship — if you believe something we've built isn't right, contact us and we'll investigate and put things right where the fault is ours.
We carry public liability insurance for the work we carry out. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Beyond that, we aren't responsible for losses that weren't reasonably foreseeable, or for pre-existing issues with a property that we didn't cause.
We follow standard health and safety practice on site. For everyone's safety, please keep children and pets away from the work area while we're on site, and let us know about anything on site we should be aware of (for example, underground pipes, cables, or asbestos-containing materials).
If you're ever unhappy with our work or service, please contact us directly at info@jbbricklayer.co.uk or 07903 057710 so we can put things right as quickly as possible.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. For a specific job, the terms that applied when your quote was accepted will continue to apply to that job.
